The Black Demon

Josh Lucas (Ford v Ferrari, Yellowstone) stars in this edge-of-your-seat action thriller from the director of Rambo: Last Blood. Oilman Paul Sturges' (Lucas) idyllic family vacation turns into a nightmare when they encounter a ferocious megalodon shark that will stop at nothing to protect its territory. Stranded and under constant attack, Paul and his family must somehow find a way to get his family back to shore alive before it strikes again in this epic battle between humans and nature.

Lucas can currently be seen in Season 5 of the Emmy-nominated Paramount Network drama, “Yellowstone,” where he reprises his role in 7 episodes as ‘Young John Dutton’ (Kevin Costner plays current-day John Dutton). The Yellowstone franchise continues to be incredibly successful, drawing in a series high during the Season 4 finale with 9.3 million total viewers and three spinoff series.

Lucas recently wrapped production on Apple TV+’s MRS. AMERICAN PIE, where he stars alongside Kristen Wiig, Carol Burnett, and Allison Janney. MRS. AMERICAN PIE is set during the powderkeg era of the early 1970s and follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) and her attempt to secure her seat at America’s most exclusive table: Palm Beach high society. Lucas will play Douglas, Maxine’s husband.

Lucas is also set to star in the action thriller feature film “Blood For Dust” alongside Kit Harrington (GAME OF THRONES) and Scoot McNairy (ARGO, GONE GIRL). The film is directed by Rod Blackhurst (Netflix’s AMANDA KNOX) and written by David Ebeltoft (HERE ALONE), from a story cowritten by Blackhurst and Ebeltoft.

Lucas has also recently completed production on the political thriller “Lilly “ directed by Rachel Feldman and starring alongside Patricia Clarkson. “Lilly” is based on the life of Fair Pay activist Lilly Ledbetter. Lucas most recently starred in the fifth installment of Universal Pictures The Purge franchise, “The Forever Purge.” Other film credits include the Oscar-nominated drama “Ford v Ferrari,” “The Lincoln Lawyer,” “A Beautiful Mind,” “American Psycho,” “J. Edgar,” “Glory Road,” and “Sweet Home Alabama,” among many others.

Lucas made his Broadway debut in 2005 in Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie. He also starred
in The Parisian Woman opposite Uma Thurman in 2017.

Raised between Texas and Mexico, Julio César Cedillo has been an actor for the past 33 years. He
prides himself in bringing authentic nuances to his work based on real life cultural experiences. His
intense commitment and hard work is showcased in the over 70 TV/film productions he has been
fortunate to be a part of.

Julio has worked with some of the most renowned actors and directors of our time, from starring as the
titular character in the Cannes-winning film THE THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA
opposite Tommy Lee Jones, to working on Jon Favreau’s Sci-Fi mash-up COWBOYS & ALIENS as
much needed comic relief alongside Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Sam Rockwell. In SICARIO, the
gritty drama directed by Denis Villeneuve, Julio faces off with Benicio Del Toro, becoming one of the
most memorable scenes of its genre. Other recent film credits include THE HARDER THEY FALL, a
new school western drama directed by Jeymes Samuel and produced by Jay-Z starring Idris Elba and
Regina King, where Julio and Jonathan Majors open the film in a gunfight a la spaghetti western style.
Most recently, Julio joined the cast of Amazon’s A MILLION MILES AWAY directed by Alejandra
Marquez Abella, in a lead role opposite Michael Peña. The film is based on the true story of astronaut
Jose Hernandez, the first migrant farmworker to travel into space. Julio was also reunited with the
11 prolific screenwriter, Guillermo Arriaga to join the cast of the independent film A CIELO ABIERTO,
directed by Santiago and Mariana Arriaga and produced by the prestigious Argentine film company
K&S Films.

The upcoming Netflix film, CHUPA, directed by Jonás Cuaron about a mythical creature will feature
Julio as Dr. Ortega. And three more films are due to release in 2023, with Julio participating in
CHOCOLATE LIZARDS alongside Thomas Haden Church and Rudy Pankow, the indie DEADLAND
set to premiere at SXSW, and starring with Josh Lucas in THE BLACK DEMON.

On the television side, Julio was a series regular on Netflix’s worldwide hit show NARCOS MEXICO for
two seasons as Comandante Calderoni, a complicated man who straddles the fence on both the US–
Mexico border, eventually taking down ‘Felix Gallardo’ played by Diego Luna. Other TV credits include
a regular role as ‘Neto Mendez’, a local cop in the Paramount+ series COYOTE starring Michael Chiklis;
recurring on USA Network’s QUEEN OF THE SOUTH; and, among others, guest appearances on THE
WALKING DEAD and PRISON BREAK.

Ultimately his greatest role to date is being dad to his three children he loves and cherishes. Words of
advice from Julio…“You have to tell the universe who you are and what you want, if not it will drag you
where ever it wants.”

Shark thriller ‘The Black Demon: Atlantis’ sells for Highland
